Job Description:
Over the past thirty years, we’ve not only put out some of the world’s most dangerous fires, we’ve added a full suite of prevention and pressure control services. Boots &Coots, an international Well Control company, is seeking to fill several Well Control Engineer positions. These positions will be within our international Safeguard projects and provides drilling engineering consulting, supervision, and monitoring services on oil and gas well drilling operations developing and implementing contingency plans, well plan reviews, and rig audits.
The job scope includes, but is not limited to the following:
* Evaluates well plans and drilling data to detect potential problems and recommends corrective actions to prevent blowouts from occurring.
* Develops alternative well drilling plans as needed .
* Provides technical consultation during drilling operations.
* Implements plans to minimize the risks of blowouts based upon the results of Rig Audits.
* In the event of a blow out, analyzes specific conditions at the well site and develops and directs work procedures to address each condition to effectively control the well and stop the blow out.
* Based upon well conditions, develops and initiates well kill procedures and supervises personnel in the required fire fighting and blow out operations.
* Confers with both customer and government representatives, as needed, to ensure that company interests are protected and that project completion goals are met.
* Typical requirements may include a college degree and 6-8 years experience or more than 8 years experience in drilling and well control without a degree. Interface with management and project management experience is highly desirable. Experience with all Microsoft Office products is a must. Experience working in foreign countries/multi-cultural environment is needed.

* Effective verbal and written skills
* Bi-lingual English/French a plus, but not required
* Travel up to 50% of the time
