Position Purpose:
Assistant to OIM in supervisory responsibility for the entire rig operation and related activities to effectively service customer requirements and meet or exceed planned objectives. Jointly responsible for the safety of all Scorpion Offshore personnel onboard.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Monitor on site Scorpion Offshore operations to insure that work is being performed in a safe, well planned, and efficient manner.
2. Supervise and assist the rig supervisors in the performance of the preventive maintenance program for the rig and all related equipment, including regulatory requirements.
3. Perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with operating procedures.
4. Ensure the training of Drilling Department personnel is completed in accordance with the Scorpion Training Matrix to maximize HSE / Operational performance and efficiency.
5. Support the Scorpion People Development process to ensure Drilling Department personnel are being developed and made available for promotion opportunities within the Company.
6. Conduct annual performance reviews with all Drilling Department supervisors.
7. Ensure that pre job safety meetings are conducted prior to, during tour, and as otherwise required to maintain safe working conditions at all times.
8. Responsible for correcting and/or reporting any unsafe condition or act and immediately reporting all accidents and incidents to the OIM.
9. Participate in and insure that weekly crew safety meetings and drills are conducted.
10. Responsible for the submission of operational reports to superintendent.
11. Coordinate rig activities with the customers’ representative and maintain good customer relations with operating personnel.
12. Be thoroughly familiar with rig budgets, purchasing material control and computerized inventory procedures.
13. Assists rig mover and OIM in rig moves and set up on location.
14. Assist OIM in conducting weekly quality and supervisor meetings to enhance communications.
15. Perform additional duties as directed by OIM.
Prequisites:
* Be a fully qualified Driller Oil and Gas Jobs industry.
* Be familiar with the drilling program, personnel development program, HSE program, and budgetary constraints of the rig to which assigned.
* Have appropriate performance review profile.
* Exhibit safe supervisory skills and record that is acceptable to Scorpion Offshore management.
* Must be a high school graduate or have equivalent GED.
To qualify for this position, the employee in addition must meet the following requirements within six (6) months:
* License Requirement : OIM/MODU Master License
* Performance Appraisal : Employee must maintain an adequate performance review profile.
Supervisor’s Recommendation:
If position is acquired by transfer or promotion, it must be accompanied by a written recommendation from this person’s immediate supervisor and superintendent.
Training:
The employee must complete all Rig Based and Shore Based training identified in the Scorpion Training Matrix within 6 months (including the Toolpusher OJT).
