Job Description:
KCA DEUTAG are continuing to expand its business throughout 2007 with our jack up, tender assist barge and land rig operations and we are therefore looking for experienced personnel to join our company.
With the increasing number of self-erecting tender rigs there is a significant need to have a dedicated team of personnel who are not assigned to any particular tender rig but can move between them all. These extra personnel are required for the following reasons:
* The normal crew complements are not sufficient for rig up/down in an efficient manner.
* Campaign maintenance is typically carried out on the DES during moves.
* Rig down requires additional rigging expertise and maintenance support.
* We have to transfer lessons across all our rigs.
* Provide resources so that we can address processes that require review and improvement.
Initially we have vacancies for 2 x Chief Electricians and 2 x Chief Mechanics as part of this team.
The primary responsibilities of these roles will be to:
* Deliver safe, cost effective and timely delivery of rigs from start of rig down in one location to the start of operations in the next location.
* Provide support to local teams as required.
* Provide experienced support that can work independently and support the existing maintenance team.
* Assist with developing shipyard or specific upgrade work scopes.
* Trouble shooting.
* Develop common systems and processes.
The intention is to assign personnel to specific projects such as shipyards, offshore trouble shooting, planning for shipyards, campaign maintenance etc.
Offshore rotations will apply; however, a degree of flexibility from the individuals is required in terms of covering a specific period, such as a rig move or shipyard period. Every effort will be made to plan and schedule a reasonable work period with suitable advance warning.
The planned number of rig moves and shipyards will means those roles will provide the opportunity for personnel to work across a wide variety of rigs and regions with the potential for short periods within KCA DEUTAG office locations around the world.
You should be a high calibre leader with proven experience of maintenance operations in a varied international environment. There is a need to be decisive and self-directing, using your initiative to review and identify opportunities to ensure we can deliver safe, effective and trouble free moves.
